Seyyed Morteza Mahmoudi, a representative from Tehran in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, made controversial statements analyzing the state of housing construction in the country, specifically referencing the performance of the governments after Ahmadinejad and Raisi. He stated that recent governments have obstructed the fulfillment of the housing needs of the people with their policies and examined the dimensions of this issue.

Critique of Past Governments' Performance

Mahmoudi referred to the implementation of the Mehr Housing Plan during Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's presidency, considering it a successful example of the government's efforts to provide housing for low-income groups. He emphasized: "The Mehr Housing Plan, as one of the largest housing projects in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was implemented to assist the truly needy and had good achievements."

He also referred to the National Housing Movement during Ebrahim Raisi's presidency, considering it a positive step towards solving the housing crisis. However, he strongly criticized the performance of the governments following these two administrations, stating: "The other governments have somehow pulled the brake on housing construction, which has made it impossible for us to respond to the basic needs of the people."

Consequences of Housing Construction Recession

Mahmoudi pointed out the problems and challenges in the housing market, adding: "The recession in housing construction has had negative impacts on people's lives, leading to rising prices and reduced access to housing for the public." He also stated that this recession has led to social and economic problems and could have dire consequences for the country's future.

Expressing concern over the insufficient attention to housing needs in society, he called for a review of housing policies and special attention to this issue. Mahmoudi emphasized the necessity of collaboration and cooperation among all relevant institutions and agencies in the field of housing construction, stating that only with a national resolve can we help solve this problem.

In conclusion, Seyyed Morteza Mahmoudi urged all officials and statesmen to restore hope to the people by meeting their housing needs and to work towards improving the housing situation in the country.
