Seyyed Farzad Talakesh, the Secretary of the Poultry Federation, announced that the price of each carton of eggs has been determined and soon the price differences in stores will disappear. He pointed out that the production of eggs in the country now meets market demand and there is no issue with its supply.
Sustainable Production and Identification of Eggs
Talakesh emphasized that the Egg Association and higher authorities are working to implement the law for identifying agricultural products, especially eggs. This action can help stabilize prices in the market and assure consumers that prices will be the same in all stores. With the implementation of this law, buyers will no longer see price differences from one store to another.
The Secretary of the Poultry Federation also referred to the role of eggs as the cheapest protein in the household consumption basket and said: "As in previous years, egg consumption increases in the second half of the year, but with a 10 to 15 percent increase in consumption during this time, we will not have any issues with its supply."
Prices and Market Conditions
Talakesh announced the daily production of eggs as 3,200 tons and said that this amount will reach 3,500 tons in the months of Aban and Azar. He stated that the price of each bulk carton of eggs is between 480,000 to 700,000 tomans and added: "Each 30-egg carton packaged in chain stores is 553,000 tomans."
He pointed out that market conditions depend on the consumer economy, stating: "As long as the government does not adjust the amount of the coupon and is limited to goods with price increases due to liberalization, there will be no change in consumption levels." This issue may lead to fluctuations in the egg market, which requires closer monitoring.
