Seyed Jafar Tashakkori Hashemi, the head of the Urban Development and Transportation Commission of Tehran City Council, announced the electric vehicle charging rates in Tehran for the year 1405 during the 437th session of the City Council. These rates have been determined based on a bill submitted by the Tehran Municipality to the council and include the cost of consumed electricity and the service fee for using electric vehicle charging equipment.
42 Percent Increase in Charging Rates
Tashakkori Hashemi mentioned in this session that the electric vehicle charging rates have increased by 42 percent compared to last year. Specifically, the DC charging rate is set at 12,540 rials per kilowatt-hour, and the AC charging rate is set at 8,078 rials. These changes reflect the municipality's efforts to improve services for electric vehicle users and encourage the use of clean energy in urban transportation.

Facilities for Active Taxis
Furthermore, Tashakkori Hashemi referred to the facilities provided for active taxi drivers. These drivers can charge their vehicles with a 50 percent discount. This measure has been taken to support taxi drivers and encourage the use of electric vehicles in public transportation in Tehran. Additionally, the rate for this section will be determined based on the distance traveled.
According to the head of the Urban Development and Transportation Commission, the operation of electric vehicle charging stations should be handed over to the private sector to provide services more efficiently. This transfer could lead to increased competition and improved service quality in this area.
Approval of the Bill with Maximum Votes
The bill for the management and operation fees of electric vehicle charging equipment in Tehran for the year 1405 was approved with maximum votes in favor. This approval indicates the consensus among city council members on the necessity of supporting the development of electric transportation and reducing air pollution in the capital.
In conclusion, Tashakkori Hashemi emphasized that these measures can be considered effective steps towards sustainable development and reducing pollution in Tehran. Given the increasing number of electric vehicles in the city, these changes could positively impact the quality of life for citizens and improve environmental conditions.
