Russia has recently agreed to deliver 90 guided missile launchers to Iran. This information has been obtained through leaked documents addressing military cooperation between Moscow and Tehran. This agreement comes as Washington is assessing its next steps in the war with Iran.

Details of the Military Agreement

Received documents indicate that Russia, by planning to deliver LMUR launchers, which are missiles fired from attack helicopters, to Iran, demonstrates its deepening cooperation with Tehran. These missiles have been widely used by Russian forces during the Ukraine war.

The production plan prepared in May 2024 by the company "Vimpel," one of the leading designers of missiles and launch systems, includes an order for 90 launchers under an export contract named "K-10." The delivery of these launchers is scheduled between late 2024 and December 2025. Internal documents clearly identify "K-10" as Iran.

Economic and Military Implications

As the war in Iran continues for a longer duration, Moscow has become one of the main winners of this conflict. This war has provided Russia with significant economic and strategic advantages, and higher oil revenues help the Kremlin secure more financial resources for the war in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, this military cooperation between Russia and Iran has significantly expanded since Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Tehran has become an important supplier of the "Shahed" attack drones, which Russia is now producing domestically.

In the meantime, American officials have consistently reduced the level of Moscow's support for Tehran. However, European security intelligence indicates that Russia is providing Iran with key data and satellite imagery that could assist in targeting American forces in the Middle East.

The military cooperation between these two countries is clearly expanding, and in October, senior officials from Russia and Iran held three high-level meetings, reflecting the increasing importance of this relationship for both governments.
