Rouhollah Izadkhah, Vice President of the Parliamentary Faction for Oversight of the Cooperative System and Justice Shares, announced the decisive actions of the Parliament to properly manage Justice Shares and efforts made to prevent the weakening of this social capital. He stressed the importance of this plan as the economic legacy of the martyr Imam, saying: "Justice Shares were created with the aim of popularizing the economy and must be protected in the best possible way."

History of Justice Shares and the Challenges Ahead

Izadkhah referred to the changes made in the process of Justice Shares since 2020, stating: "These changes seemed to us to be aimed at weakening these shares, which unfortunately began during Mr. Rouhani's government and continued in the current government." He added that the Parliament quickly initiated oversight actions by forming the Faction for Oversight of the Cooperative System and Justice Shares, with the participation of 30 to 35 representatives.

Parliamentary Oversight Actions to Preserve Justice Shares

Izadkhah clarified that several oversight actions regarding Justice Shares are currently being pursued. He mentioned questioning the Minister of Economy and preparing an oversight report under Article 45 by the Special Commission for Supporting Production as some of these actions. Additionally, a proposal for investigation into Justice Shares is also under review in the Social Commission.

He stated: "The Parliament has so far prevented the government from making hasty decisions and attempting to unilaterally open Justice Shares in the stock market. This action could have been detrimental to the people because, in inflationary conditions, people would sell their shares without sufficient knowledge of the implications."

Izadkhah also referred to the Parliament's efforts to amend Article 44 of the Constitution, saying: "Our goal is to strengthen the structure of Justice Shares so that people can benefit more. The benefits of Justice Shares are not limited to its annual profit, and more attention should be paid to the ownership and assets of the people."

The Vice President of the Faction for Oversight of the Cooperative System and Justice Shares concluded by stating that the Parliament seeks to preserve and strengthen Justice Shares for the benefit of the people and hopes this issue will be prioritized in the Parliament's agenda.
