Robotic dogs have now been added to the equipment of the Iranian Red Crescent; alongside new rescue vehicles that are set to enhance the speed and safety of aid delivery.

Developing the Rescue Fleet with Innovative Technology

At the ceremony for the addition of new rescue vehicles to the logistics fleet of the Red Crescent Society, the robotic dogs of this organization were also unveiled; robots that are intended to provide environmental information to rescue teams during search and rescue operations in rubble and to define the search path for them. Thus, part of the identification of hazardous environments can be done before the rescuers directly enter.

Safety and Speed of Aid Delivery; A Priority for the Red Crescent

Pirhossein Kolivand, the President of the Red Crescent Society, emphasized the development of the rescue fleet at this ceremony, stating that the use of new technology and equipment is the right of the people. Referring to the experiences of rescue operations in the recent war, he stressed the necessity of transforming the lessons learned from past incidents into planning for the future.

Kolivand also considered the safety of rescuers as one of the priorities of the Red Crescent, stating that rescue forces should not enter the incident scene without equipment. He emphasized that the speed of action, alongside appropriate equipment, is part of the country's rescue capability.

Ghaempanah, the Executive Deputy of the President and Head of the Presidential Office, also noted at this ceremony that the value of the new vehicles is not in the moment of unveiling, but at the moment when a family is waiting for aid to arrive. He mentioned that in rescue operations, arriving a few minutes earlier can change the fate of a life.

Now, part of this presence is set to take shape with the help of technology. Robotic dogs can move ahead in environments that are dangerous for rescuers and provide necessary information for the search team. The new vehicles are also intended to make the delivery of personnel and equipment to the incident site faster and safer.

In conclusion, Ghaempanah emphasized that strengthening the fleet shows its true value when aid reaches people faster and more safely during an incident. The output of this new equipment is expected to be not only a more equipped fleet but also a few more minutes for saving human lives.
