Reza Alfatnasb, the head of the Virtual Business Union, announced new changes in the online gold trading guidelines and stated that the removal of time restrictions on online gold sales platforms is one of the most important reforms of this guideline. This change not only allows businesses to operate without time limitations but also helps strengthen the country's security infrastructures.

Strengthening Security Infrastructures

Alfatnasb pointed out the increase in cyberattacks in recent weeks, emphasizing that the necessity of strengthening security infrastructures is clearly felt. He stated: "In the past month, especially during the last two weeks, we have witnessed a significant increase in cyberattacks." These attacks have heightened the need for enhanced cybersecurity, and large businesses have also focused more on the security of their websites and infrastructures during this period.

Redesigning the New Monitoring System

In a recent resolution by the Cabinet, the Central Bank has been tasked with redesigning the monitoring system for online gold transactions, while the Ministry of Intelligence is responsible for overseeing this system. Reza Alfatnasb announced: "Several businesses have connected to this system, and it is expected that more platforms will soon be able to connect to this system." He assessed the importance of this connection in implementing the new guidelines as very high and emphasized that this matter should be pursued with greater speed.

The head of the Virtual Business Union also spoke about the prohibition of granting bank loans for purchasing gold, currency, and cryptocurrencies, stating that this decision does not mean the exclusion of banks from the online gold market. He emphasized that if a company operates in this field and is a subsidiary of a bank, its treasury should not belong to the bank itself and should use the treasury of another bank. This issue has been discussed in the meetings of the Article 18 Committee for various reasons and considerations.

The Importance of Cybersecurity in the Digital Economy

Alfatnasb also referred to the widespread impacts of cyberattacks on the digital economy, stating: "The digital economy is no longer a limited part of the country's economic activities, and today many people are active in the digital field." He added that any disruption in communication and digital infrastructures can have numerous effects on the daily lives of people and businesses.

He also emphasized that enhancing cybersecurity should not be limited to businesses alone, and the country's infrastructural and governmental sectors should pay special attention to this issue. Ultimately, Alfatnasb stressed that the actions taken to enhance cybersecurity must be accompanied by serious planning to counter cyberattacks.
