Iran-U.S. nuclear negotiations have returned to the zero point before the war began. This situation is clearly indicated by the public statements of American officials and the Trump administration's responses to Iran's proposal. Iran has demanded the fulfillment of seven conditions in exchange for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, but the U.S. has once again raised Iran's nuclear file as the main issue in the negotiations.

New U.S. Positions and Upcoming Challenges

In response to Iran's proposal, the U.S. has demanded concessions that were previously presented in a 15-point plan and faced opposition from Tehran. It seems that the country is currently not seeking serious negotiations and agreements, and is only addressing the nuclear issue as a media narrative to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. This approach reflects the U.S.'s unwillingness to return to a memorandum that was previously signed.

The Future of Negotiations and New Conditions

The current conditions indicate that returning to a memorandum seems very difficult for the U.S., especially with the presidential elections approaching. The likelihood of another military conflict is also high under these circumstances. If Netanyahu is ousted in the upcoming elections and the Democrats gain a stronger majority in the Senate, there may be hope for a change in the U.S. approach. However, at present, the initiation of new negotiations and another agreement clearly depends on conditions that arise after a serious military conflict.

In the meantime, the current state of negotiations and the positions of both sides will impact the future of Iran-U.S. relations. Given the upcoming challenges and the lack of agreement between the two sides, it seems that the path of negotiations will lead to despair, and any efforts to achieve new agreements will depend on specific and critical conditions in the future.
