The renaming of four streets in Tehran after distinguished martyrs of the Imposed War was recently approved in the 435th session of the Tehran City Council. These streets have been named in memory of the precious martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the homeland.

New Streets of the Sacred Defense Martyrs

The newly constructed two gas highway, which spans the distance between the intersection of Shahid Khrazi Highway and Kerman Boulevard, has been named after Martyr Amir Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, the former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. This name change not only honors the values of the Sacred Defense but also commemorates the sacrifices of this prominent figure.

Furthermore, the Nobonyad Square has been renamed after Martyr Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the political advisor to the Supreme Commander. This action reflects the respect and admiration of the City Council for military figures who played a significant role during the Imposed War.

Renaming of Streets and Squares

Additionally, the Darya Boulevard, located between Shahid Farahzadi Street and Shahid Sharifi Street, has been renamed after Martyr Admiral Alireza Tangestani. Ram Street in the Pasdaran area, located between Beheshtan Fourth Street and Shahid Soori Street, has been named after Martyr Dr. Kamal Khrazi. These changes serve as a reminder of the sacrifices of these esteemed individuals in defending the country.

Mehdi Chamran, the Chairman of the Tehran City Council, emphasized the importance of these changes during the session, stating: "To rename Mehrabad Airport after our martyr leader, we need to correspond with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. The renaming of Velayat Park after our martyr leader will also be approved by the council." These remarks reflect the City Council's commitment to honoring the memory of the martyrs of the Sacred Defense and the leaders of the Islamic Revolution.

These changes in street naming not only help revisit the history of the country but also familiarize future generations with the sacrifices and selflessness of the esteemed martyrs. In this regard, the Tehran City Council aims to keep the memory of these dear individuals alive by naming streets and squares after prominent figures.
