Tehran Metro is taking actions to manage the increase in travel during the month of Mehr by reducing train intervals and improving services for passengers. Mostafa Mousaipasandi, the Deputy for Social and Cultural Affairs of Tehran Metro Operating Company, stated about the company's plans to welcome the month of Mehr: "Every year, we start planning about three months in advance, and during this time we strive to prepare the stations and fleet for the start of the school year."
Preparation of Metro Stations and Fleet
Mousaipasandi, referring to the actions taken in this regard, said: "From cleaning and preparing the stations, seats, and prayer rooms to platforms, lighting, and escalators, all of these matters are being addressed. In fact, our goal is to create a comfortable and safe travel experience for passengers."

He added: "In the past year, despite the fact that the fleet contracted with China has not yet arrived at the metro and alongside it we have the national train, we have tried to reduce train intervals by optimizing our fleet." Referring to efforts made to bring old wagons back into operation, Mousaipasandi explained that, in collaboration with wagon manufacturing, some of the wagons that had previously been decommissioned have been reactivated.
Travel Management Strategy During Peak Hours
The Deputy for Social and Cultural Affairs of Tehran Metro Operating Company also mentioned special programs for peak travel hours. He emphasized: "According to the daily and intelligent monitoring conducted in the network, we have a floating fleet; this means that if Line 1 is busier at a certain hour, the fleet will be added to this line, and at another time when Line 4 is busier, this fleet will be injected into that line."
Thus, the main goal is to reduce intervals and minimize congestion at stations and on trains. Mousaipasandi emphasized the importance of these measures, stating: "We strive to lower the congestion level to create the least amount of crowding and discomfort for passengers."
The Tehran Metro Institute also believes that these actions can have a positive impact on passengers' travel experience in Mehr and help them reach their workplaces and educational institutions more calmly. Based on projected statistics, with the start of the school year and the increase in travel, these measures seem essential.
