Mohammad Hossein Kabadi, Deputy Operations of the Red Crescent Relief and Rescue Organization, announced the readiness of this organization for heavy rainfall and flooding in four provinces, referring to the announcement from the country's meteorological organization. According to the information provided, starting from Sunday, the northern regions of West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, and Ardabil provinces, as well as the southern and central regions of Kerman province, will be affected by the activity of a rain system. This situation means showers, thunderstorms, hail, and temporary strong winds.
Likelihood of flooding and river overflow
Kabadi pointed to the possibility of flooding, overflow of seasonal rivers, and waterlogging of streets, urging citizens to avoid traveling and camping near riverbanks and streambeds. Slippery roads and reduced horizontal visibility are also among the other consequences of this weather situation, which can pose dangers for drivers.
Warning in coastal areas
The Deputy Operations of the Relief and Rescue Organization also mentioned the issuance of a yellow marine warning in the coastal areas of Gilan and Mazandaran provinces. He announced that the increase in wind speed and wave height in the Caspian Sea until the end of Tuesday, November 4, could pose a risk of drowning and disruption of maritime activities. In this regard, Kabadi urged compatriots to refrain from swimming in the sea and to avoid unnecessary travel in coastal and marine areas during adverse weather conditions.
Red Crescent readiness and safety recommendations
The Red Crescent Society emphasized the full readiness of operational forces and rapid response teams, urging citizens to take official meteorological warnings and safety recommendations seriously. In the event of any incident, the number 112, the Red Crescent's emergency call line, will be available as a communication line. This organization is fully preparing to deal with critical conditions and expects people to pay attention to their safety and that of others with cooperation and caution during this difficult time.
