Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, in his latest remarks analyzed the situation of negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv, stating that Europe acts as one of the main obstacles in the path of these negotiations. He emphasized that Ukraine has not moved closer to negotiations with Russia in any way, and this issue is particularly influenced by the behaviors of European countries.
European obstacles in the way of talks
Peskov pointed out that Ukraine is in a position to avoid returning to the negotiating table due to European pressures, stating: "Europe systematically hinders the progress of the negotiation process. While we are always ready for dialogue, the current conditions indicate that Ukraine is affected by these obstacles." He also noted that this situation is not in favor of either party and could have irreparable consequences.

Revival of US-Russia economic relations
Meanwhile, Peskov also referred to the possibility of reviving economic relations between the United States and Russia. He said: "In the current conditions, economic relations between the two countries can be in line with mutual interests. Although the political situation is complex, both countries can take advantage of economic opportunities." These remarks come at a time when relations between the two countries are under severe pressure due to the Ukraine crisis and mutual sanctions.
Peskov further added: "We hope to overcome the problems in the near future and move towards economic cooperation again." These statements reflect a new approach in Russian diplomacy that may seek to reduce existing tensions.
This Kremlin spokesman also emphasized that any revival of economic relations requires fundamental changes in the political approaches of both parties. In his view, if the United States can reduce sanctions, the space for economic and political dialogues will improve.
Finally, Peskov pointed out that diplomacy and direct dialogue are the only appropriate solutions for resolving current crises and that special attention should be paid to this issue. He urged the international community to play a more constructive role in this regard and to move towards creating a favorable environment for negotiations.
