A new rain system is entering the country, and thunderstorms are predicted in several provinces. Kobra Rafiei, an expert from the National Meteorological Organization, announced that today rain, thunder, and temporary strong winds are expected in the provinces of Golestan, North Khorasan, and Semnan. The intensity of the rain in the north and east of Hormozgan, the eastern strip, and the south of Sistan and Baluchestan, the southwest and south of Kerman, and the eastern heights of South Khorasan has also led to a yellow weather warning being issued.
Potential Risks from the Rain
These rains may bring risks such as rising river waters, flooding of streets, runoff, and slippery roads. Kobra Rafiei further added: “From the afternoon of Thursday, with the northern winds over the Caspian Sea, rain will begin in the provinces of Gilan, Ardabil, and western Mazandaran and will continue until Friday.”

Rain Forecast for the Next 5 Days
Rain in some southern regions will also continue for the next 5 days. Rafiei stated: “During this period, rain showers are expected in southern Kerman, southern Sistan and Baluchestan, and the heights of Hormozgan, accompanied by thunderstorms and temporary strong winds.” Additionally, temporary strong winds are predicted in the east and northeast of the country, which in some susceptible areas will cause dust storms and reduced air quality.
On Friday, the phenomenon of temporary strong winds will occur not only in the eastern strip of the country but also in the west and northwest, bringing dust along. The sky in Tehran is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, and in the western and southern regions of the province, temporary strong winds are expected at certain hours. Temperature fluctuations in Tehran province will range between 22 and 32 degrees Celsius.
The report from the Meteorological Organization indicates that the average temperature in the country has increased by 1.6 degrees Celsius over the past week compared to the long-term average. The highest temperature increase was recorded in South Khorasan with 3.2 degrees and Sistan and Baluchestan with 2.9 degrees. Meanwhile, Qazvin province recorded the least temperature change compared to the long-term average with 0.9 degrees below zero.
No change in the average temperature has been recorded in Kurdistan, and Tehran province has seen a 0.4-degree increase in this comparison. Given these changes, it is essential for people to exercise caution during rainfall and strong winds.
