Narges Rozban, the Director General of the Housing Economy Office of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, recently discussed the statistics related to housing prices in Tehran and other cities. She emphasized the launch of a new system and the necessity of completing its infrastructure, stating that the existing data still lacks sufficient reliability and statistical validity.
Housing Prices in Tehran and Cities
According to recorded information, the average housing price in Tehran is estimated to be less than 200 million tomans. Meanwhile, the average housing price in other cities across the country is estimated to be around 52 to 53 million tomans. These figures pertain to August 2025 and reflect the state of the housing market during this time period.
Challenges of Housing Statistics
Rozban further addressed the challenges regarding housing statistics and explained that the low number of recorded transactions can impact average prices. She noted that an increase in transactions in a month in either high-priced or low-priced areas may alter the calculated average. Therefore, the announced figures should be considered in light of statistical limitations and the number of recorded transactions.
The Director General of the Housing Economy Office also added that under the current conditions, one cannot confidently comment on the accuracy and finality of these statistics. She highlighted the importance of accurate data processing by the Statistical Center of Iran and the Central Bank, noting that these institutions will publish housing market statistics after processing the information.
In conclusion, Narges Rozban emphasized the necessity of paying attention to statistics and the conditions of the housing market, urging all stakeholders in this field to examine the existing data more carefully and to avoid hasty decisions. She also pointed out that improving the conditions of the housing market requires collective effort and precise planning.
