Mohsen Khamenei, in controversial statements, introduced the Islamic Republic of Iran as the world's leading power based on 'divine calculations.' This claim has sparked diverse reactions in the media and political spheres.

Press Conference and Explanation of Concepts

In this context, the Hawzah News Agency held the first meeting titled 'Iran, the World's Leading Power Based on Divine Calculations,' where three clerics from the Qom Seminary elaborated on this viewpoint. A message attributed to Mohsen Khamenei, published on October 6, provoked various reactions and interpretations in the media. Figures such as Saeed Jalili, the representative of the Supreme Leader in the Supreme National Security Council, endorsed these remarks within the framework of 'Quranic logic.'

Power from the Perspective of the Quran

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting also explained 'being the leading power' in a note, stating: 'In the logic of the Quran, the true power of a society does not solely derive from its material, economic, military, and technological resources, but rather its relationship with divine traditions and its alignment with the path of supporting the truth also plays a fundamental role in determining its destiny.' Figures like Mahdi Fazeli, a member of the office for preserving and publishing the works of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also analyzed and interpreted Mohsen Khamenei's statements.

Fazeli, at a ceremony for university martyrs in Alborz Province, said: 'Analysts place Iran in the fourth position in the world power rankings based on material calculations and existing factors in global equations; that is, after the United States, China, and Russia.' He also emphasized that the global order is changing and considered the Islamic Republic of Iran as the 'most influential' factor in the new global order.

Reactions and Criticisms

Mohsen Khamenei's statements also faced critical reactions. Some on social media turned it into a source of humor and jokes, pointing to economic problems, rising currency prices, and livelihood crises, deeming such an image of Iran's power and status as unrealistic. These remarks have also raised questions about political legitimacy and the criteria for 'divine calculations.'

The concept of 'divine calculations' has previously been mentioned in the statements of Islamic Republic officials. Ali Khamenei, the former leader of the Islamic Republic, has repeatedly emphasized the role of divine factors in political and military developments and has used similar rhetoric. Analyzing Mohsen Khamenei's statements in this context could influence the understanding of threats and opportunities and political and diplomatic decision-making.
