Mohammad Mahdi Nasiri, the CEO of the Health Insurance Organization of Iran, announced in a press conference the expansion of insurance coverage for diabetic diseases and the approval of six psychological services. These actions are aimed at improving access to healthcare services and enhancing community health.
Success in Controlling Infectious Diseases
Nasiri referred to the successes achieved in controlling infectious diseases during this meeting and said: "With the implementation of widespread vaccination in health networks and health houses, as well as regular care, significant success has been achieved. Many infectious diseases that were common in past decades have been nearly eradicated." These successes reflect the continuous efforts of the country's healthcare and medical staff in maintaining public health and preventing the spread of diseases.
Insurance Coverage for Psychological Services
The CEO of the Health Insurance Organization of Iran further stated: "We approved psychiatric services for the first time in the Supreme Insurance Council and provided insurance coverage for six psychological services." This action means increased access to psychological services for individuals who visit contracted institutions and can receive services with insurance coverage. This decision is particularly important in the post-COVID era, where psychological issues in society have increased.
Nasiri also pointed out the existing challenges in the health system and said: "Reports have been received regarding the unreasonable performance of some diagnostic procedures in Tehran province." This issue indicates the need for closer supervision over the process of healthcare and diagnostic services to prevent further problems.
With these actions, the Health Insurance Organization of Iran hopes to contribute to improving the health status of the community and facilitating access to healthcare services for various segments of the population. These policies are designed to reduce the financial burden of treatment on families and provide appropriate healthcare and medical facilities for all segments of society.
Finally, Nasiri emphasized that the Health Insurance Organization of Iran is seeking to enhance the quality of services and increase the satisfaction level of the insured. This goal not only helps improve the health of individuals but will also benefit the entire community.
