Mohammad Jamalu, the head of the country's Civil Registration Organization, in his latest statements, examined the statistics related to vital events in the country and published details regarding the raw rates of birth, death, marriage, and divorce. These statistics, updated based on the recommendations of the United Nations, provide a clear picture of the social living conditions of Iranians.

Birth and Mortality Statistics in Provinces

Jamalu announced in this meeting that in the first half of the current year, 428,664 newborns were born in the country, with a sex ratio of 108 boys for every 100 girls. Meanwhile, the birth statistics have decreased compared to last year, where the number of births in the first half of last year was 460,000. In contrast, the number of deaths during the same period reached 225,804, with a sex ratio of 131 men for every 100 women.

Status of Marriage and Divorce in the Country

According to Jamalu's statements, in the first five months of the current year, 159,320 marriages were registered in the country. The average age of marriage for women is reported to be 24.1 years and for men 28.4 years. Meanwhile, the number of divorces also reached 69,447, which is a significant figure compared to previous years. Khorasan Razavi province was recognized as having the highest divorce rate in the country, with 2.8 divorces for every 1,000 people.

Ranking of Provinces in Vital Statistics

Jamalu detailed the statistics for various provinces and stated that Sistan and Baluchestan has the highest birth rate in the country, with 22.1 births for every 1,000 people. Alongside this, this province also has the lowest divorce rate at 0.7 for every 1,000 people. In contrast, Gilan province recorded the lowest birth rate with 6 births for every 1,000 people.

In terms of mortality, Gilan has the highest rate with 7.9 deaths for every 1,000 people, while Sistan and Baluchestan has the lowest mortality rate at 3.7 deaths per 1,000 people. These statistics indicate significant differences between various provinces in the country.

Future Outlook

Overall, these statistics indicate that while some provinces are facing high rates of divorce and mortality, others have managed to experience better conditions by maintaining high birth rates. These discrepancies may depend on cultural, economic, and social factors in each province and require more detailed investigations.
