Abbas Heydari, the CEO of Milad Tower Company, announced the Tehran Municipality's plan to provide tourism support packages centered around 'zero inflation'. These packages are designed to facilitate families' access to recreational and tourism facilities, with the main goal of preventing vulnerable groups from being deprived of leisure in the current economic conditions.
Facilitating Access to Tourism Facilities for All Families
Heydari stated in this regard: 'The Tehran Municipality has asked the Milad Tower complex to prepare its proposed tourism package.' He added: 'To develop this package, we are negotiating with various entities in the private sector as well as government agencies and the municipality.' The aim of these interactions is to provide discounts and tourism services at lower costs for citizens.
The CEO of Milad Tower Company, referring to the diversity of tourism attractions in the capital, said: 'Some of these capacities, including amusement parks, house-museums, and Milad Tower, are under the control of the Tehran Municipality, while others are managed by government agencies or the private sector.' He emphasized that the main goal is to ensure that tourism is included in the household budget of Tehran families so that families, especially vulnerable groups, are not deprived of leisure and tourism.
Safety Measures and Monitoring of Milad Tower Structure
Heydari also referred to the safety measures at Milad Tower and said: 'Issues related to safety, health, and the environment are taken into consideration in this complex, and periodic drills by the Crisis Management Organization are held to increase preparedness in emergency situations.' He added: 'The tower's elevators are sensitive to strong winds, and if the wind speed exceeds the permissible limit, they automatically shut down.'
The CEO of Milad Tower Company explained about the monitoring of the structure's safety: 'Some of the old structural monitoring sensors had been inactive for a while due to wear and tear.' However, he announced new contracts that have been signed in collaboration with one of the academic institutions, and several new sensors have been installed. With the continued installation of equipment based on test results and obtained data, the safety of the structure will be updated.
Heydari also reported the presence of fire-fighting equipment at Milad Tower and said: 'These equipment are inspected monthly and annually, and the renewal of related permits is done after inspection and obtaining approval from the relevant authorities.'
Addressing the Hazardous Condition of the Excavation Adjacent to Milad Tower
The CEO of Milad Tower regarding the excavation adjacent to this tower said: 'This excavation was created over 10 years ago with the aim of constructing a high-rise hotel, but after about a year, it was abandoned and became one of the hazardous excavations in Tehran.' He added: 'After the establishment of new management in 2021, necessary follow-ups were conducted to address this situation, and construction operations began in 2022.' With the implementation of a new project, the excavation has been removed from hazardous status and currently poses no danger to the Milad Tower complex.
In conclusion, Heydari spoke about the fate of the hotel construction project in this area, stating: 'This project is considered one of the major investment plans of Tehran and its implementation requires significant investment.'
