Military Service, a Sacred Value
He emphasized that "military service is a value only when it serves a sacred goal" and added: "Military service for the homeland in Islam is doubly sacred." General Hatami, referring to the history of the country, said: "In the past, many enemies attacked our homeland, but in 1979, the Iranian nation, under the leadership of Imam Khomeini (RA) and with the solidarity of all armed forces, raised the flag of resistance and did not allow a single grain of our homeland's soil to fall into the hands of the enemy."
He also mentioned the role of the Islamic Revolution in creating a spirit of resistance and military service and said: "Soldiers must know under which flag and commander they stand. The leadership of Imam Khomeini (RA) instilled this spirit in the armed forces, and history has shown that the Iranian nation stood with dignity and resistance under Imam's flag."
Major General Hatami also referred to the recent war and noted that the enemy, with incorrect calculations, seeks to weaken the country, but "under the flag of resistance, all commanders and soldiers stood firm and did not allow the enemy to achieve its goals."
He emphasized that "the imposed war is still ongoing," saying: "The aggressive enemy has suffered heavy blows, but we must remain prepared to deliver even heavier strikes to them. The cries and screams of the enemy are due to their credibility being destroyed."
