Javad Azad, Vice President of the Agricultural Commission of the Cooperative Chamber, stated that the reasonable price of red meat carcass is less than one million and 500 thousand tomans, given the favorable conditions for livestock production in the country. He emphasized that with the recent increase in the supply of light livestock, prices have significantly decreased, and the average price of live animals has reached 700 thousand tomans.

Favorable conditions for livestock production and supply of inputs

Azad further noted that favorable climatic conditions and forage production have led to an increase in livestock production. He announced that livestock farmers can easily purchase the necessary animal inputs from the market system, and currently, there are no issues in supplying these inputs.

Concerns about livestock accumulation and red meat prices

The Vice President of the Agricultural Commission of the Cooperative Chamber expressed concern about livestock accumulation among farmers, stating: "Given the increase in the supply of red meat and the economic conditions of households, there is no need for the import of red meat. However, the price gap between meat and live animals still exists, which needs to be addressed." He also pointed out that the price of red meat is not related to the price of live animals at all.

Azad emphasized that with the identification of red meat, the quality of the meat offered in the market will improve, ensuring that sheep meat is not sold instead of male lamb meat. This action can help reduce the price gap and improve market conditions.

According to Azad, currently, 50 percent of the meat available in the market comes from female animals, which is sold at the price of male animals. This issue can, in turn, affect prices and buyers' decisions.

In conclusion, Javad Azad expressed hope for the improvement of the meat and livestock market, emphasizing the need for greater oversight on quality and prices so that families can easily benefit from these products at reasonable prices.
