Ismail Baqaei, this morning, October 12, elaborated on recent developments in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran during his weekly press conference. He commemorated the Sacred Defense Week, mentioning the successes of Iranian athletes in the Asian Games in Japan, emphasizing that these successes are a sign of self-belief and progress among Iranian women and girls.
Iran's Presence at the United Nations General Assembly
Baqaei further referred to the presence of the Iranian delegation at the United Nations General Assembly, stating: "Although the number of members of the Iranian delegation was small, their activities were productive. We used this opportunity to introduce the logical atmosphere, authority, and victimhood of Iran." He considered this presence one of Iran's most successful activities in international forums.

Iran's Warnings to Neighboring Countries
In response to a reporter's question about the Israeli Prime Minister's visit to the UAE and Iran's warnings to its neighbors, Baqaei said: "We are committed to good neighborliness and expect neighboring countries to also adhere to this principle and not allow their territory to be exploited." He emphasized that this issue is a legal-international demand and urged neighboring countries to remain vigilant against the aggressive actions of the United States and the Israeli regime.
The spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry also mentioned the release of several Iranian compatriots in the UAE and thanked the Emirati officials. He raised this issue during the General Assembly meeting with the Emirati side and expressed hope that all Iranians who are detained would be freed.
The 6-Member Committee of the Supreme National Security Council
Baqaei further referred to the 6-member committee for decision-making in the Supreme National Security Council, stating: "This committee has been responsible for the centralized review and handling of issues related to negotiations for several months. The Foreign Minister is also one of the members of this committee." He also referred to the President's statements about this committee, adding that it is currently reviewing important issues.
In response to a question about the return of International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to Tehran, Baqaei stated that no agreement has been made in this regard, and Iran has only announced its conditions in the form of a 'seven-day' plan. He said: "At this stage, our focus is on the Strait of Hormuz, and securing this waterway requires specific steps from the American side."
Baqaei also commented on Donald Trump's statements regarding the uncertainty of who his negotiating counterpart in Iran is, saying: "This claim has no basis, and the Americans know well who their counterpart in Iran is. The problem lies in the fluctuating statements of American officials." He emphasized that such remarks should be attributed more to projection and expressing internal problems in the United States.
