Iraq's Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, elaborated on his country's critical situation following the potential resumption of military clashes between the United States and Iran during a press conference. Expressing concern over this situation, he emphasized that any new war in Iraq would not only impact the security of the country but also exacerbate the humanitarian and economic crisis.
Risks of War for Iraq
In this meeting, Fuad Hussein stated: "We are deeply concerned about the resumption of war in the country. If Iraq becomes a battlefield again, the situation will worsen significantly. This country will directly suffer from the consequences of these conflicts." The Iraqi Foreign Minister also pointed out that as a developing country, Iraq is vulnerable to the repercussions of war not only militarily but also economically.

Human and Social Consequences
The Iraqi Foreign Minister stressed that military conflicts could lead to the destruction of key infrastructure in the country, a wave of homelessness, and internal and external migrations. He added: "Every war has catastrophic humanitarian consequences. We cannot allow history to repeat itself and our people to become victims of these conflicts."
These concerns arise as Iraq has recently been suffering from ongoing internal wars and terrorist threats. According to Hussein, "We currently need peace and stability to overcome our economic and social challenges." In this regard, the Iraqi government is seeking to establish diplomatic relations and regional cooperation to prevent the escalation of tensions and create calm in the country.
Need for International Cooperation
At the end, the Iraqi Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of international support and regional cooperation, stating: "We need the support of the global community to protect Iraq from any external and internal threats. Only then can we move towards a better future."
In the current circumstances, Iraq is in dire need of a comprehensive strategy to maintain the security and stability of the country. This strategy should include active diplomacy, economic and social cooperation, and the strengthening of security infrastructure to prevent any new crises from arising.
