Hussein Amirabdollahian, the Iranian Foreign Minister, met with Rashid Meredov, his Turkmen counterpart, on Monday morning during his visit to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. This meeting was part of efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and expand economic and political cooperation between the two countries.

Examining Bilateral Relations

During this meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations and emphasized the importance of closer cooperation in various fields, including energy, transportation, and trade. Hussein Amirabdollahian, while pointing to the high economic capacities of both countries, stressed the need to make greater use of these capacities.

Developing Economic Cooperation

Rashid Meredov also referred to the potential economic capacities of Turkmenistan in this meeting and said, "We can create new avenues for economic development through joint cooperation." The two officials also discussed and exchanged views on joint projects in the fields of energy and gas.

Such meetings not only help strengthen bilateral relations but can also pave the way for regional cooperation. Given the geographical position of Iran and Turkmenistan, cooperation in transit and transportation can bring benefits to both countries and the region.

After this meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister told reporters, "We intend to elevate economic relations to a new level and serve the interests of both countries through joint cooperation."

This meeting takes place at a time when Iran and Turkmenistan are striving to respond to regional economic and political challenges by strengthening their relations. Additionally, this meeting is seen as an opportunity to examine existing challenges and find common solutions.

Given the growing trend of cooperation between the two countries, this meeting is expected to lay the groundwork for new agreements and more effective collaborations in the near future.
