The Houthis, the militia supported by the Islamic Republic, announced in a statement that they take responsibility for two recent operations against Saudi Arabia. According to the Houthis, these attacks were aimed at targeting "sensitive objectives" in Riyadh and the oil facilities of Aramco in the city of Yanbu.

Escalating Tensions in the Middle East

These operations come as Saudi Arabia has recently continued its airstrikes against the Houthis and accused the group of targeting Mecca. Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for the Houthis, stated in a statement that Saudi Arabia's "criminal efforts" in Sana'a have been thwarted and threatened to respond to these actions.

The Houthis' attacks on Saudi Arabia, which began about two months ago due to a maritime blockade against Riyadh, have damaged the country's energy and shipping infrastructure and created new threats to global oil supply. This situation has also put the main alternative route through the Red Sea for Gulf countries' exports at risk.

The Role of the Islamic Republic in the Conflicts

Reports indicate that the Islamic Republic has been sending military equipment and military advisors to the Houthis in areas recently captured near the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait. Yemeni military sources have reported that four experts from the Revolutionary Guard have visited areas overlooking the southern Red Sea and met with the Houthi missile unit commanders.

In light of these developments, the United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned the Houthis' attacks on Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that these attacks have harmed civilian and energy infrastructure and led to injuries among civilians, including women and children.

Meanwhile, the Houthis continue to install radar on heights overlooking the southern Red Sea and consolidate their military positions in these areas and on Zuqar Island. These military activities could lead to increased tensions in the region and jeopardize maritime security.
