In a remarkable return, 10 Hormozgani fishermen who spent 33 days in the UAE have returned to their homeland. This group, which faced immense pressure due to the harsh conditions of detention in that country, expressed their gratitude for the support of Tehran Municipality in their return and accommodation process.
A Bitter Account of Captivity Days
Abdolhamid Asadi, one of the returning fishermen, spoke about his difficult and exhausting days during captivity in an interview with Parkway program. He recounted the mental and physical pressures they endured during this time and emphasized that the support of Tehran Municipality was crucial.
Asadi stated that the environmental and mental conditions during this period were extremely concerning, saying: “We were waiting for our freedom every day, and this waiting had turned into a nightmare for us. But when we realized that Tehran Municipality was following up on our situation, our worries eased a bit.”
The fishermen emphasized that the support from the public and government institutions during tough times was particularly effective, adding: “Fortunately, with continuous follow-ups, we were able to return to the country, and now we sincerely thank Tehran Municipality and everyone who helped us along the way.”
This return is seen as a clear example of national empathy and solidarity, demonstrating that during difficult times, the support of government institutions can play a key role. Now, these fishermen will continue their normal lives in Hormozgan with renewed spirits and hope for the future.
