Return to the stage after four years
Homayoun Shajarian, after a four-year hiatus from the stages in Iran, will once again perform on stage with the concert 'Wherever You Are' alongside the 'Siavash' group. This concert will be held from October 7 to 15 at the open-air amphitheater of the International Exhibition of Shiraz. Shajarian wrote about this concert: 'Wherever You Are' reminds us that distances are not always as far as they seem. This concert is held in collaboration with the 'Wherever You Are' campaign, part of which is dedicated to providing better educational opportunities and access for students who have had fewer opportunities.
The 'Siavash' group includes musicians such as Azad Mirzapur (oud), Hossein Rezaeinia (daf), Mahyar Tarhi (santur), Radman Tavakoli (tar), Mehrzad Azemi Kia (kamancheh), and Morteza Momenian (tonbak), who will accompany Shajarian in this concert.
Shajarian has also joined the 'Wherever You Are' campaign and has released the piece 'The Moonlight Shines' with lyrics by Nima Yushij and music by Majid Derakhshani after 28 years. He last performed on stage in August 2022 at a concert titled 'In the Color of Sound' at the Ministry of Interior Hall, and after that, he held his concert tour abroad with Anoushiravan Rouhani. Shajarian also intended to hold a free street concert in Azadi Square last September, which was canceled due to the lack of management capacity for a million-strong crowd. Now, after four years, he will once again perform on stage in Iran.
