Greg Stanton, the head of the Executive Council of the Nujaba Movement in Iraq, in remarks expressing gratitude to the participants in the sit-in at Najaf Airport, emphasized the importance of this action as a sign of the Iraqi people's commitment to national sovereignty. Stanton warned of escalating protests if the unjust blockades of Iraq's airports continue.

The Sit-in at Najaf Airport and Its Consequences

The sit-in at Najaf Airport, which was recently held, is considered a collective action by the people of Iraq to show support for their country's national sovereignty. This sit-in not only demonstrates the determination and will of the Iraqi people to defend their rights but is also seen as a wake-up call for government and international institutions that are trying to exert pressure on Iraq's sovereignty.

Stanton went on to describe the current situation in Iraq, stating: "Our people will never allow their national sovereignty to be affected by external pressures. This sit-in represents a collective and unified force seeking to protect national interests and bring about positive changes."

Warning of Escalating Protests

Stanton, referring to the unjust blockades of Iraq's airports, warned that the continuation of this situation could lead to escalating protests and public discontent. He added: "We never want our country to head towards insecurity and instability. If these blockades continue, the people will take to the streets and make their voices heard around the world."

The head of the Executive Council of the Nujaba Movement also referred to the role of media and international institutions in covering news related to Iraq and called for more attention to the situation of the people and the existing realities in the country. He emphasized that the media should accurately reflect the realities instead of broadcasting false and distorted news.

Protests and sit-ins in Iraq have always faced serious challenges. However, Stanton emphasized that the determination of the Iraqi people to defend their rights and national sovereignty remains strong and steadfast. He added: "Our people will never respond negatively to threats and pressures and will always strive to achieve their national aspirations."

In conclusion, Stanton stressed the need for internal solidarity and cooperation among different segments of society, stating: "We must help each other and stand against external pressures. Only through unity and solidarity can we achieve our goals."
