Gas conservation has been proposed as a necessary measure in the winter season, especially considering the current production conditions in the country. The President has announced that due to the war, the country's daily gas production capacity has been damaged to 230 million cubic meters, of which only 100 million cubic meters has returned to the grid. Meanwhile, the daily production capacity of 130 million cubic meters still needs to return to the cycle of activity.

Increased Demand and Consumption Management

As the weather gets colder, gas consumption for heating in homes significantly increases. In this situation, maintaining a balance between the needs of households, power plants, and industries becomes more important. Saeed Tavakoli, the CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, states that 70 to 80 percent of the energy consumed by a residential unit in winter is dedicated to heating. He also emphasized that each degree drop in temperature adds about 25 million cubic meters to the country's gas consumption.

Home Measures for Conservation

These figures indicate that even small changes in heating methods can have significant national impacts. For example, setting the home temperature to around 20 degrees Celsius, wearing warmer clothing, and preventing cold air from entering can help reduce gas consumption. Additionally, using high-efficiency heating equipment and setting the heating water temperature in the range of 55 to 60 degrees, according to the building conditions and type of system, can assist in managing gas consumption.

Reducing unnecessary gas consumption in buildings, alongside increasing the efficiency of equipment and optimizing heating systems, can help better allocate energy among different sectors. Sustainable access to fuel for industries is crucial for the continuity of factory operations and maintaining employment, and ensuring gas supply to power plants is also effective in stabilizing electricity production. Therefore, gas conservation is beneficial not only for households but for the entire community and industry of the country.

Investment in Energy Optimization

In this regard, optimizing buildings and investing by energy management companies in high-efficiency equipment can enhance the effect of household savings. Combining the reconstruction of production capacities, reducing energy waste, and reforming consumption patterns is a way to better navigate the cold days and use the country's gas resources more efficiently. These measures not only help meet the essential needs of households but can also ensure the country's energy security during the cold seasons.
