The smart fuel card, as a vital tool in managing consumption and distribution of oil products, plays an important role in ensuring transparency in consumption and preventing fuel smuggling. Therefore, access to this card is essential for vehicle owners, especially in conditions where the use of gas station fuel cards is facing restrictions in some provinces.

National Smart Fuel Card Issuance Plan

The national instant issuance plan for the smart fuel card, which was implemented last winter, aims to expedite the issuance process and increase applicant satisfaction. With this plan, the application registration steps are conducted electronically and remotely, and applicants can register their requests by visiting the website of the National Oil Products Distribution Company.

After registering their information and uploading the required documents, applicants can choose their preferred method of receiving the card. These methods include postal delivery or in-person pickup, with the pickup location specified if the in-person method is chosen.

Applicants' Issues in the Issuance Process

However, some applicants report issues in this process. They have stated that despite completing the application registration steps, they do not receive SMS notifications regarding the status of their application or the time of card receipt. Additionally, delays in application registration and the non-display of certain operational areas in the system are other problems faced by applicants.

These grievances are not limited to new fuel card requests; applicants for duplicate cards, especially those who have lost their cards, also face difficulties in receiving their cards. Although the option to register for a duplicate card remotely has been provided, many citizens have expressed dissatisfaction with the prolonged process.

Many drivers, especially those who have lost their fuel cards, face more daily challenges. In this situation, the prolonged process of receiving the card can lead to further issues in utilizing their fuel quota.

The National Oil Products Distribution Company must investigate these problems and monitor the status of SMS notifications, the performance of issuance centers, and the process of delivering duplicate cards to reduce the gap between the announced timeline and the actual time of card receipt.

Applicants who encounter questions or issues during the registration, receipt, or follow-up process for the smart fuel card can contact the National Oil Products Distribution Company's response center at 09627.
