The discovery of the body of a 70-year-old man on the outskirts of the Hamadan-Saveh freeway in May of this year raised alarm bells for law enforcement and initiated extensive investigations. Colonel Mojtaba Jamali, the police chief of Saveh County, stated that initial investigations indicated that the victim had been murdered due to reasons including poisoning.
Police Investigations and Identification of the Suspect
Colonel Jamali explained that the victim was traveling from western provinces towards the center of the country when he suddenly lost his life. As investigations progressed, detectives obtained new information indicating that the victim's car had also been stolen.

Subsequently, the trail of the killer was found, and the suspect, a 34-year-old man, was identified. This individual was serving a prison sentence for theft in one of the provinces. With judicial coordination, he was transferred to Saveh County and confessed to the murder during investigations.
Details of the Murder and Its Motives
The suspect explained in his confessions that he was traveling as a passenger in the victim's car to the center of the country. Along the way, on the Hamadan-Saveh freeway, after offering and drinking poisoned juice, he rendered the driver unconscious and left him by the roadside. He then fled after stealing the victim's mobile phone and car.
This case has drawn attention not only due to its violent nature but also because of its human and social aspects. Murder on roads and in public spaces increases feelings of insecurity in society and highlights the need for greater attention from security and judicial authorities.
Colonel Jamali expressed concern over such incidents and emphasized the necessity of raising public awareness regarding the dangers of road travel and adhering to safety precautions. This incident can serve as a wake-up call for others to be more cautious about their travels and the choice of companions.
