Chamli Gol, or floating grass, is a unique natural attraction near the village of Badarlu in Takab County, which has drawn the attention of many tourists due to its special characteristics. This natural phenomenon is a floating mass of roots and vegetation that rests on the water's surface and shifts with the wind and water movement. Chamli Gol has been registered in the list of national natural monuments of Iran and is recognized as one of the nature-based tourism potentials of West Azerbaijan.

Development Programs for Tourism

Reza Heydari, the Deputy of Tourism at the West Azerbaijan Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Organization, stated about the measures taken for the development of Chamli Gol tourism: "This grass is actually a mass of roots that feeds on water and is not connected to a fixed point. Therefore, it has the ability to move and shift on the water's surface, which is very attractive to tourists." He also mentioned the paving of the access road to this tourist attraction and added: "We have taken steps to improve the access road, and several bridges have been constructed along this route."

Local Community Participation in Tourism Development

Heydari, referring to the capacity of eco-lodges in the Chamli Gol area, continued: "The development of eco-tourism facilities located along the access route to this attraction provides tourists with the opportunity to enjoy this scenic area in the second half of the year. It is noteworthy that the participation of the local community in the development of tourism in this area is very important, and without the cooperation of local people, tourism programs will not succeed."

Chamli Gol has the highest number of visitors due to the cold weather in the first half of the year, but those interested in visiting during the cold season also travel to this area. This floating island, covering an area of 80 square meters, is situated on a pond of one hectare and moves in various directions with the wind and air currents. Some experts believe that the movement of the pond is related to the Earth's rotational movement. The water in the lake is also sourced from the depth of the lake.
