Furthermore, the implementation of passive defense requirements and considerations in the design of parks and urban green spaces was also discussed. According to Khatiri, passive defense requirements must be seriously considered in the design and construction of new and developmental parks so that these spaces can be effective in emergencies.
Provision of Modern Protective Equipment and Training for Staff
Reviewing studies on the multifunctionalization of urban elements in Tehran and equipping the staff of the protective units of Tehran Municipality with modern protective equipment and necessary training were other resolutions of this meeting. These actions are aimed at strengthening security and protecting urban infrastructure against various threats.
Khatiri also mentioned the construction of 24 restrooms near the metro shelter stations and regarded it as an effective step towards increasing the comfort and convenience of citizens. These facilities will help citizens have appropriate sanitary amenities available during crises and emergencies.
According to Khatiri, this meeting also emphasized the continuity of the essential functions of the affiliated units of Tehran Municipality. Planning for the purchase, repair, and maintenance of emergency power generators and the use of renewable energy and solar panels in important municipal buildings is also among the significant actions that need attention.
In conclusion, considering the announcement of the plan by Martyr General Hossein Salami, conducting a radiation defense training course for managers and experts was placed on the agenda of the Urban Services and Unconventional Threats Working Group. These courses are designed to enhance the awareness and knowledge of managers and experts regarding radiation threats and how to manage them.
