Colonel Sadegh Zarouni, the fourth precinct chief of the Tehran Greater Preventive Police, announced the arrest of a thief of a Pride vehicle in the vicinity of Jashnvareh Street. This action followed a theft that prompted the operational team of Police Station 126 Tehranpars to identify and apprehend the perpetrator.

Identification of the Thief with the Help of CCTV Cameras

Colonel Zarouni explained that the officers, by reviewing CCTV footage at the crime scene and matching images with the database of previous offenders, were able to identify the suspect. Records indicated that this individual was a professional thief and was under electronic monitoring with an ankle bracelet at the time of the theft.

Arrest in a Surprise Operation

After identifying the suspect, intelligence actions and monitoring of his movements began. Investigations revealed that the suspect had gone to one of the northern cities of the country, but after returning to Tehran and being in the Tehranpars area, the officers were able to identify his movement location and arrested him in a surprise operation. Specialized investigations showed that the vehicle the suspect was using was the same stolen Pride with another vehicle's license plate installed on it.

Zarouni added: After stealing the vehicle, the suspect transferred it to one of the northern cities and, by stealing the license plate of another vehicle, intended to conceal the true identity of the car and prevent its identification by the police. It was also revealed that he had attempted to steal items and contents from vehicles as well.

During a search of his hideout in the parking lot of his residence, a stolen Pride vehicle with a fake license plate and a significant amount of suspicious stolen property, including 4 wheel rims and tires, several toolboxes, and tire chains, were discovered.

The fourth precinct chief of the Tehran Greater Preventive Police stated: So far, 7 victims have been identified, and the suspect has confessed to the committed crimes. The discovered property is being examined to identify the owners and investigate their possible connections to other theft cases. After the case was filed, the suspect was referred to the judicial authority for legal proceedings, and investigations to identify other victims and examine the possibility of committing other crimes are ongoing.
