Ali Nasiri, the head of the Tehran Disaster Prevention and Management Organization, announced the closure of 5 amusement parks in the city due to safety deficiencies and non-compliance with standards. This action is in line with the supervisory duties of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Secretariat of Tehran Municipality to ensure the health and safety of citizens.

Reasons for the Closure of Amusement Parks

Nasiri explained the reasons for these closures, stating: “According to the latest reports from this secretariat, out of a total of 43 amusement parks owned or operated by Tehran Municipality, 5 facilities were identified due to safety deficiencies and were closed in collaboration with the HSE committees of the regions.” One of these amusement parks is the “Basij Amusement Park” located in District 14. In this context, 4 other amusement parks in District 5 successfully received standard certification last month.

Status of Other Amusement Parks

The head of the Tehran Disaster Prevention and Management Organization also announced that there are currently 38 active amusement parks in Tehran. In some of these amusement parks, several pieces of equipment have been identified as lacking standard certification. Nasiri noted that efforts are underway to obtain the necessary approvals, and the operators of these facilities have been warned to promptly obtain standard certification and ensure the safety of the equipment.

Nasiri emphasized the importance of this issue, stating: “It is evident that if deficiencies are not addressed and the operation of unsafe equipment continues, the matter will be pursued through the HSE committees of the regions, and if necessary, an injunction will be obtained from the prosecutor's office to prevent the operation of the mentioned equipment.” This warning reflects the serious commitment of officials to protect the health and safety of citizens and highlights the need for greater attention to safety standards in public places.
