Ali Boroujerdi, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, recently commented on the current situation of the country and the necessity of maintaining cohesion in foreign policy. He deemed the impeachment of Abbas Araqchi, the Foreign Minister, as an illogical and incorrect action given the wartime situation the country is in.
Araqchi's Efforts in Diplomacy
Boroujerdi emphasized that in wartime, attention should be paid to the capabilities and efforts of diplomats, stating: "Abbas Araqchi is working with all his might to secure the national interests of the country, and in this sensitive situation, his impeachment could weaken the Foreign Ministry and the country's diplomacy." He also referred to Araqchi's key role in international negotiations and interactions, saying: "We must properly utilize these capacities."

Need for Unity in Foreign Policy
Boroujerdi stated that the country is in a special situation and needs unity and solidarity in foreign policies. He continued: "In a situation where enemies are trying to disrupt the stability of the country, we should focus on solidarity and strengthening diplomatic positions instead of creating internal tensions."
This parliament representative also highlighted the importance of supporting the country's diplomatic team, saying: "We should give our ministers the opportunity to perform well on the international stage and represent the country's interests in the best possible way instead of impeachment and creating divisions."
Boroujerdi concluded by emphasizing that "in wartime, the main priority is to maintain the security and interests of the country, and any internal tension can easily turn against us." He called for more cooperation and solidarity among various institutions of the country to act in the best possible way during this sensitive period.
