Support and Empowerment Measures
The director general of the Youth Planning and Social Participation Office further referred to the actions taken to support heads of households. He stated that the Ministry of Sports and Youth has taken action in several key areas, including education, empowerment, and enhancing the employment skills of these women. By granting vocational and technical certificates, the aim is for these women to be able to utilize loan facilities and create job opportunities in various sectors.
Abdi also pointed out the importance of empowering women for remarriage, stating: "In a recent study we conducted, over 40% of women who have been divorced reported that they are not interested in remarriage." This statistic indicates a certain fear of remarriage among these women. While I do not currently recall the exact figure, this issue requires further investigation.
Statistics on Single Women Due to Divorce
Abdi, referring to the statistics of single women and men due to divorce in the country, said: "1,647,000 women are single due to divorce, and the number of women in this group is greater than that of men." This statistic indicates that men have a better chance of remarriage after divorce, while divorced women face more restrictions and difficulties in this regard.
The director general of the Youth Planning and Social Participation Office concluded by emphasizing the need to pay attention to the economic, social, and psychological status of women after divorce and to strengthen support and empowerment programs for them. He noted that this issue should be regarded as a serious challenge in society and requires the cooperation of all institutions and organizations.
