Brigadier General Abbasali Mohammadian, the head of the capital's police, announced significant discoveries made in recent months this morning on the sidelines of the latest drug enforcement exhibition in Tehran. He stated that in these operations, 157 drug trafficking leaders were arrested and nearly 6 tons of various drugs were seized.

Police Efforts in Collecting Open Drug Users

Mohammadian further referred to the multiple missions of the police in collecting open drug users and said: "Despite the challenges in this area, our colleagues have been striving to ensure safety for the people. Currently, we rarely witness the presence of open drug users in public spaces, and this is the result of the police's continuous efforts."

Successful Operations and Extensive Discoveries

The head of the capital's police emphasized that since the beginning of this year, despite the wartime conditions, the police have continued their missions and successfully seized 6 tons of drugs. These seizures are related to the activities of 109 different gangs. Additionally, in these operations, 9 firearms were also confiscated from traffickers, and 4 hideouts along highways and forest parks were identified and destroyed.

Mohammadian also pointed to the dangers posed by the entry of synthetic drugs into the country and warned about the threats these substances pose to the youth. He stated: "These drugs may be smuggled in and enter the country in high weights, and families need to be more vigilant regarding their children."

Police Preparedness for School Reopening

The head of the capital's police, while referring to the approaching school reopening time, announced the police's full readiness to ensure the safety of students. He emphasized: "The police is working to ensure traffic safety for students and around schools with necessary planning, and will confront any threats that may arise in the students' paths."

Mohammadian addressed families, saying: "Monitoring and supervising children's behavior is very important, especially during this period when some youths may seek to experiment with drugs. Families should be aware of their children's friends, movements, and behaviors."
