The Ministry of Education has issued a directive on how to implement the program for distributing free milk and nutrition in public schools, aiming to improve the nutrition and health of students. This action is in line with Article 71 of the Seventh Five-Year Development Plan of the Islamic Republic of Iran and is set to be implemented in the current academic year.
Provision of Nutritional Items from Credible Sources
According to this directive, the provision of free nutritional items will only be allowed from factories and suppliers approved by the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Health and Food Security. This measure is taken to ensure the quality and safety of the food provided to students.

Health and quality supervision of production units will be the responsibility of the deputy offices of medical universities in the provinces through sampling and periodic testing. Additionally, the supervision of the transportation and storage processes of these items will be the responsibility of the environmental health specialist group, ensuring the safety and quality of food materials.
Registration of Information and Executive Responsibilities
For the implementation of this program, the registration of student information based on the Seyda system and the preparation of minutes for each stage of milk delivery is mandatory. These actions are taken to facilitate and organize the distribution of milk and nutrition in schools.
According to the resolution of meeting 83 of the Market Regulation Headquarters, the responsibility for providing milk has been assigned to the designated governors. This responsibility allows governors to implement the program effectively with closer supervision, ultimately leading to improved student health.
This plan not only helps improve the nutritional status of students but can also lead to a reduction in health issues caused by malnutrition among children and adolescents. Considering that many students live in underprivileged areas, this program can be seen as an important social support and ultimately contribute to the enhancement of living standards and public health in the community.
Since proper nutrition during school years significantly affects academic performance and mental health, it is hoped that the implementation of this program will result in positive and noticeable changes in the health and quality of life of students.
