Amir Ghalenoei, head coach of the Iran national football team, has retreated from his previous promises in a new interview, emphasizing the improvement of the national team's performance in the Asian Cup. He has recently attracted attention for his comments regarding expectations from the national team and has now somewhat revised his views.

Realistic Expectations from the National Team

Ghalenoei mentioned in his remarks yesterday that expectations should be aligned with the current conditions and that no one has asked him for championship. However, today in an interview with the official website of the Football Federation, he promised that the national team would perform better than in the previous Asian Cup, where they reached the semifinals. This implies reaching the final of this competition, which clearly raises expectations.

Preparation Plans for the National Team

Amir Ghalenoei continued his remarks by referring to the upcoming plans for the national team, stating: "Matters related to the national team have begun at the Pak building of the National Football Center, and operational plans have been set month by month." He also emphasized that the national team will be prepared with additional strength for the Asian Cup and stressed that the quality of the national team in this tournament will be higher than in previous competitions.

The national team coach also mentioned the support of the people, saying: "The national team is the home of 90 million Iranians, and the good prayers of the people will hopefully accompany this team." However, the use of the term "performance" instead of "results" in this interview may be seen as an escape route for Ghalenoei in case of failure in the Asian Cup. He has clearly stated that this does not mean a refusal to accept responsibility for the results, but it can still serve as a defensive leverage for him.

Given these developments, it remains to be seen whether the Iran national football team will fulfill Ghalenoei's new promises or not. This team, despite all the challenges ahead, hopes to achieve new successes with the support of the people and careful planning.
