Alireza Beiranvand, as one of the most renowned goalkeepers in Iranian football, has come into the spotlight. Ali Latifi, a veteran of Esteghlal, has expressed his opinion in an interview about the rumors that Beiranvand might join Esteghlal, emphasizing that this goalkeeper could be a cornerstone of his team.
Alireza Beiranvand's Champion Personality
In this conversation, Latifi praised Beiranvand's champion personality and compared him to Ahmadreza Abedzadeh. He said: "Beiranvand has certainly had an interest in Esteghlal in the past and has wanted to join this team, but ultimately he went to Persepolis. Ethically, considering the behaviors he has exhibited in recent years, I have a significant difference of opinion with him, but this does not mean ignoring his abilities on the field."
Latifi added: "Beiranvand, both at the national and club levels, possesses not only technical abilities but also a champion spirit, which he transfers to other players. Any team that Beiranvand is part of can benefit from his personality and abilities."
Challenges of Beiranvand's Transfer and Controversies
Latifi also referred to the potential challenges of Beiranvand's transfer to Esteghlal, stating: "The past controversies and his presence at Persepolis have heated the conditions of his transfer to Esteghlal. I hope Iranian football moves towards a situation where players can easily transfer from one club to another."
He further mentioned the criticisms and comments from veterans, saying: "The main problem is created by the players themselves; trash talk and irrelevant comments cause the situation to become heated. More attention should be paid to these matters."
Amirhossein Sadeghi, the former captain of Esteghlal, has also stated that if Beiranvand joins Esteghlal, he will withdraw his support for this team. In response to this comment, Latifi said: "Amirhossein Sadeghi is my friend and a very good person, but when someone makes such a statement, it may unintentionally harm football."
He emphasized that acquiring Beiranvand could also weaken the rival and said: "Veterans and fans should consider that sometimes acquiring a player from a rival team, in addition to strengthening one's own team, can also weaken the opponent."
In conclusion, Latifi urged veterans to ensure their comments do not pressure the club and said: "I am sure that from a technical standpoint, Mr. Tajernia and Sohrab Bakhtiyari-Zadeh also accept Beiranvand and will likely welcome his presence."
