Alireza Beiranvand, the experienced and national team goalkeeper of Iran, has recently been drafted for military service as announced by Brigadier General Radan. This issue has generated significant news and increased concerns about the future of this player and his team. Beiranvand must report for military service starting from October 1, but the managers of Fajr Sepasi are working to take the necessary steps to add him to their team.

Challenges of Military Service and Football

While Beiranvand had received permission to play against Esteghlal with the Tractor team, his future is now shrouded in uncertainty. However, Mehdi Taj, the president of the Football Federation, mentioned the situation of this player and other footballers in the Football Nights program, stating that negotiations are underway to resolve the military service issue for footballers.

He explained: "The military service issue is such that the entire country, from football schools to clubs, is involved, and we are reaching a point where a large population needs to be dispatched for military service." This is while only a few clubs like Malavan, Fajr Sepasi, Ground Force, and Oqab can utilize conscript players, which has created significant limitations in the country's football.

Need for Legal Changes

Taj also pointed out that winning in Asia could bring military exemption, but such laws do not exist for the Iranian national team and participation in the World Cup. Alireza Beiranvand, who has been to the World Cup several times, still cannot benefit from military exemption. Taj said: "I think this is like not utilizing someone's medical profession. While shining in the World Cup is important for us, such considerations are not included in the existing law."

The president of the Football Federation also announced a meeting with high-ranking military officials and the Chief of Armed Forces, stating: "The issue of Beiranvand and other conscript players was discussed in this meeting, and they are currently devising solutions for it." He emphasized: "The important point is that no one should consider themselves distinct in the law." These statements reflect the importance of the military service issue in Iranian football and the necessity for changes in this regard.
