Ali Rahimi, the CEO of Tehran Taxi Organization, announced the start of new measures to strengthen taxi lines in September. This decision has been made especially considering the beginning of the school year and the increase in the movement of students. Rahimi emphasized that vehicle oversight and joint patrols with traffic police will be intensified at all terminals and taxi lines from the beginning of September.
The Complementary Role of Taxis in Public Transportation
The CEO of Tehran Taxi Organization added: "Given the increase in traffic load in September, the taxi fleet aims to play a complementary role to the metro and bus services for citizens." This action is planned to reduce passenger wait times at terminals and high-demand lines. Rahimi stated that citizens of the capital should feel a significant improvement in taxi wait times.
Special Measures to Facilitate Student Movement
Rahimi also announced special measures to facilitate the movement of students. He said: "With the reopening of schools and universities, we will face a large volume of travel demand. This year, a joint plan with the Tehran traffic police will be implemented to establish traffic order and discipline." In this regard, some special lines leading to universities will be managed in coordination with the police and the bus company, using vans to reduce wait times.
Another noteworthy point is the operation of electric taxis in the capital, which will help reduce air pollution and improve travel quality for citizens. Rahimi highlighted the importance of this issue, stating: "The operation of electric taxis not only helps preserve the environment but also enhances the travel experience for citizens."
These measures are aimed at improving the quality of taxi services and providing better facilities for citizens and students in September. It is expected that with the implementation of these plans, citizens and students will be able to reach their destinations easily and without delay, benefiting from taxi services.
