Alex Winston, editor of the Jerusalem Post, delivered an important message to the people of Iran at the fifth Iran conference of the Novidi Institute, recently held in Washington: "I want them to know they are not alone." Winston's goal in attending this conference was to show solidarity with Iranians and present Israel's perspective on the developments in Iran.
Change in Discussions
Winston described this year's Novidi conference as completely different from last year, stating that recent developments in Iran have changed the topic and direction of discussions. He emphasized that since the protests began in December 2022, the focus of discussions has shifted significantly. Topics such as internet shutdowns, media restrictions, and the events of December 18 and 19 are at the center of discussions.

Solidarity with the People of Iran
The editor of the Jerusalem Post referred to the role of Novidi in bringing together individuals with different viewpoints and stated that these gatherings have gained more importance. In his opinion, now more than ever, it is necessary to talk about Iran and convey the truth of what is happening in the country.
Winston also referenced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations General Assembly. He noted that Netanyahu used the UN platform to express Israel's views on various issues, and his emphasis on the suffering of the Iranian people under the Islamic Republic was a sign of solidarity between the two nations.
He highlighted the presence of Israeli flags alongside Iranian flags at gatherings of Iranians abroad, considering its significance in supporting the people of Iran. Winston also mentioned the display of the Starlink device during the Israeli delegation's presence at the UN, relating it to the internet shutdown in Iran.
In conclusion, Winston emphasized his responsibility as a journalist to amplify the voices of the people of Iran to the world, stating: "We are truly working hard. I personally have taken on the responsibility to publish these stories as much as I can."
He ended by saying: "I want them to take care of themselves and know they are not alone. The world is with them, and we are working to spread their message."
