Ahmad Motahari Asl, the Friday prayer leader of Tabriz, addressed important topics in this week's Friday prayers, including the increase in the elderly population and the necessity of increasing childbirth. He pointed out predictions that the elderly population of Iran will reach about 13 million by 2031, 19 million by 2041, and around 30 million by 1431. He emphasized that increasing childbirth is one of the effective solutions to face this trend and urged families to pay attention to having more children.

Warning to Neighbors About Air Sanctions Against Iran

Furthermore, Motahari Asl warned neighboring countries not to join in the air sanctions against Iran, referring to regional developments and U.S. policies. He stated: "If Iran cannot utilize regional capacities, no country should think it can unilaterally benefit from regional resources." The Friday prayer leader of Tabriz emphasized that Iran is a country with civilization and historical background, and the Iranian people will not succumb to pressure and threats.

Emphasis on Supporting Armed and Law Enforcement Forces

Ahmad Motahari Asl also referred to Police Week in part of his speech and appreciated the services of military and law enforcement forces in ensuring the country's security. He called for the government's attention to the livelihoods of these forces and added: "The government should pay special attention to improving the living conditions of the armed and law enforcement forces so that those who are on duty to ensure the country's security do not have concerns about their family's situation."

The Friday prayer leader of Tabriz further referred to villages as centers of production and called for a review of rural development policies. He clarified that villages should become places of income and construction and should not turn into places for receiving services from cities. Motahari Asl said: "The perspective on villages should shift from 'recipients of government services' to 'producers of national wealth.' In this regard, necessary facilities for gardening and agriculture should be provided to villagers."

In conclusion, Motahari Asl pointed out the necessity of respecting the elderly and the role of families in supporting them, stating: "Respect for the elderly is one of the important religious teachings and should be considered in families and society." He also emphasized the necessity of youth presence in mosques and creating suitable conditions for their participation, adding: "Elderly individuals should share their experiences and religious teachings with the younger generation peacefully and kindly."
