Senior judicial officials from Iran and Russia took an important step towards developing judicial cooperation between the two countries by signing the official document "Cooperation Program between the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia and the Prosecutor General's Office of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the years 2027 to 2028." This document was signed by Mohammad Mohaidi Azad, the Attorney General of the country, and Vladimir Voich Gutsan, the Attorney General of Russia, and reflects a serious commitment to strengthening legal and judicial relations between the two countries.

Meeting of Attorneys General and the Importance of Judicial Cooperation

Mohammad Mohaidi Azad and Kazem Jalali, Iran's ambassador to Russia, traveled to Kazan to attend the 24th meeting of Attorneys General of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This meeting provided an opportunity for judicial officials from both countries to discuss common challenges and solutions to address them. In this session, the Attorney General of Iran emphasized the importance of judicial cooperation in combating drug trafficking and illegal immigration and called for the protection of the rights of Iranian and Russian citizens abroad.

Development of Legal Relations and Commitment to Justice

The Attorney General of Russia also referred to the proximity of the two countries' approaches in this meeting and emphasized that these cooperations should be based on the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty. He addressed the necessity of protecting citizens' rights and resolving their legal issues in third countries. Mohaidi Azad also expressed gratitude for the support of the Russian government and people in the face of international challenges and stressed the need to strengthen judicial interactions and exchange expert delegations in various fields.

The signing of this cooperation document, as a roadmap for the development of legal and judicial relations, can facilitate consular matters, resolve issues faced by Iranian students, and provide legal support for traders. This agreement, within the framework of the regional arrangements of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, aims to facilitate the transfer of convicts and improve citizens' rights.

Ultimately, with the signing of this document, the executive stages of judicial cooperation between Iran and Russia have entered a new phase, and it is expected that this cooperation will not only help strengthen bilateral relations but also assist in countering Western unilateralism.
