Abdul-Motahar Mohammadkhani, the spokesperson for Tehran Municipality, in response to questions about the possibility of impeaching the mayor of Tehran, Alireza Zakhani, stated that such matters have not been clearly mentioned in the statements of the City Council members and are more visible in the media. He also referred to the performance of the municipality in recent years and emphasized that there is no more suitable timing for raising such discussions.

Municipality Performance and Existing Challenges

Mohammadkhani stated that considering the work done in the past year and the significant progress in urban projects, it does not seem to be an appropriate time to create distractions around Zakhani's impeachment. He clarified that this view may not include all members of the City Council, as some of them have had other options in mind since the beginning of the new term.

Municipality Services and Ongoing Projects

The spokesperson for Tehran Municipality referred to the round-the-clock services of this organization and added that at least one good and hopeful news is announced to the people every week. Various projects, including the zero inflation plan, the "Chehremoshani" package, and the inauguration of Shahid Shushtari Highway and the intersection of Sattar Khan Street-Chamran Highway are underway. Mohammadkhani also emphasized that now is not the appropriate time for creating distractions and tensions in the City Council.

It seems that given the dissatisfaction of some City Council members with Zakhani's performance, this issue could become a challenge for the mayor of Tehran. However, Mohammadkhani, as the spokesperson for the municipality, stressed that the urban management team is continuously active and serving the community, striving to gain public satisfaction by providing effective services.

Overall, while the possibility of impeaching the mayor of Tehran is not being seriously considered, the challenges and dissatisfaction among City Council members could affect the stability of urban management. In this context, Tehran Municipality must continue its work and rebuild public trust by providing better services and successful projects.
