A new poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research presents a picture of growing public dissatisfaction in the U.S. with Donald Trump's administration policies. The survey, conducted from September 24 to 28 with the participation of 2,140 American adults, revealed that 69% of respondents believe that the war with Iran is unjustifiable.

Dissatisfaction with Trump's Management

The study shows that 71% of Americans are dissatisfied with Trump's management regarding Iran. Additionally, 65% of participants attribute rising prices to Trump's economic policies. Among Republicans, 67% believe that factors outside the President's control have caused the price increases. In contrast, in October 2022, only 44% held such views about Joe Biden's policies.

Interestingly, 69% of participants stated that Trump's performance regarding the cost of living has been worse than their expectations. Even 52% of Republicans confirmed this view. More than half of Americans believe that the state of the country and the national economy has worsened since Trump's reelection in 2025.

Concerns About Foreign and Trade Policies

In the realm of foreign and trade policy, 68% of participants were dissatisfied with Trump's performance in trade negotiations with other countries. Additionally, 64% believed that the imposition of new tariffs on other countries has gone too far. Regarding immigration, 39% were satisfied with Trump's performance, while 48% stated that his performance in this area has been worse than their expectations.

Furthermore, the poll results indicate that only 26% of Americans still consider Canada a close ally of the U.S. This figure was 45% in March 2025 and 62% three years ago. Overall, 73% of participants said that the U.S. is on the wrong track.

Finally, only 17% of Americans believed that Trump is keeping his promises. This figure was 4% among Democrats and 36% among Republicans. The mentioned poll was conducted using the Amerispeak panel of the University of Chicago, with a reported margin of error of 2.9%.
