Last night, the Yemen Army demonstrated once again that it will not surrender to the airstrikes of the Saudi coalition by firing missiles towards the regions of Najran and Jazan in Saudi Arabia. Simultaneously with these strikes, sirens sounded in these areas, clearly indicating an increase in tensions along Saudi Arabia's southern borders.

Number of Saudi Airstrikes on Yemen

In a statement released by the Yemen Army, it was reported that in recent hours, 42 Saudi airstrikes have been recorded in various regions of Yemen. These attacks include areas such as Sana'a, Taiz Province, Lahij Province, and Meyyun Island, which have been heavily affected by airstrikes. A spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces announced that the total number of air and missile attacks by the Saudi coalition since the escalation of tensions has reached 2,323.

Yemen Army's Response to Saudi Bombings

In 2015, Saudi Arabia imposed land, air, and sea blockades on Yemen to counter the influence of the Houthis. This blockade intensified with U.S. cooperation in October 2016. However, over the years, Yemen has gradually been able to strengthen its position against this blockade by responding decisively to Saudi bombings.

On July 3, 2026, the Yemen Army decided to break the blockade, and immediately in response to this action, Saudi Arabia bombed Sana'a Airport. This bombing faced a strong response from the Yemeni armed forces, leading the Yemen Army to achieve significant victories. Among these victories is the control of the historic port city of "Al-Mokha" and the strategic region of Khabub in southern Yemen.

These developments allowed the Yemen Army to increase its control over the vital Strait of Bab-el-Mandeb, one of the most important shipping routes in the world. Additionally, the Yemen Army forces managed to reclaim several strategic islands from U.S.-backed militants, which helped stabilize Yemen's dominance over this waterway.

Ultimately, these conflicts reflect the deep and complex tensions that will affect Yemen's future as the blockade and retaliatory attacks continue. Given the current situation, the prospect of peace and stability in this country appears highly uncertain, and with each passing day, the people of Yemen face increasing humanitarian and economic challenges.
