The administration of Donald Trump, the President of the United States, is facing two important options regarding Iran ahead of the midterm congressional elections: reaching a new agreement or escalating military pressure. In this context, Trump has repeatedly mentioned the possibility of ending the war in recent interviews, while simultaneously keeping the option of "finishing the job" with Iran on the table.

Agreement or Escalation of Military Pressure

In a conversation with Larry Kudlow on the "Sunday Morning Futures" program on Fox News, Trump stated that he has not yet made a final decision regarding the next step with Iran. Referring to U.S. attacks on Iran, he said: "They have never been hit this hard. Now my question is: Should I make a deal with them or finish the job?"

The U.S. President also once again criticized the nuclear agreement during Barack Obama's era, calling it one of the worst deals in history. He emphasized that his final decision lies between two options: reaching a new agreement with Iran or continuing military pressure until what he described as "finishing the job" with Iran.

Economic Consequences of War and Congressional Elections

In another interview, Trump predicted that the war with Iran would soon come to an end, but he refrained from providing a specific timeline. He added that with the end of the war, oil and gasoline prices would significantly decrease, and this issue is one of the important topics in the political competition between Republicans and Democrats.

In this regard, Jason Crow, a Democratic representative from Colorado, introduced the Iran war as a weakness in the Trump administration's performance and emphasized that if they gain a majority in the House of Representatives, they will prioritize the removal of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. He also referred to Vladimir Putin as one of the supporters of the Islamic Republic and criticized the Trump administration's policies.

Polling statistics show that rising fuel prices and living costs are key factors in American voters' decision-making ahead of the elections. Many voters, both Republican and Democrat, are suffering from rising living costs, and this issue could have a significant impact on election outcomes.
