Askar Jalalian, head of the country's prisoner transfer committee, announced on Tuesday the transfer of 17 Iranian prisoners from UAE prisons to Iran. This action, which includes 3 women and 14 men, is considered a diplomatic success and a sign of positive cooperation between the two countries.

Good Neighborliness and the Failure of Malicious Diplomacy

Jalalian emphasized: "The cooperation of the UAE government regarding the 17 Iranian prisoners demonstrates the failure of the malicious diplomacy of the Zionist regime against Iran in the region." He regarded this issue as a symbol of good neighborliness between Iran and the UAE and the attention to the necessities of this principle. According to him, the release of these citizens is the result of legal, political, and security synergies within the country.

Ongoing Efforts for the Release of Other Citizens

Jalalian also pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran always strives for Iranians abroad and utilizes all its capacities to assist its citizens who are imprisoned in other countries for various reasons. He expressed hope that we will soon witness the release of other Iranian citizens in UAE prisons.

The Deputy for International Affairs of the Ministry of Justice also mentioned the existence of other prisoners in UAE prisons, stating that these prisoners have been convicted according to the domestic laws of the UAE. He said: "We continue to prioritize the diplomatic capacities of the country from legal, political, and security aspects, and we will do our utmost to return the remaining Iranian convicts in UAE prisons to the country."

Legal and Diplomatic Agreements

Askar Jalalian also referred to the existing agreements between Iran and the UAE regarding the extradition of criminals and assistance in civil and criminal matters, noting that these agreements have come into effect. He expressed hope that initial negotiations on the prisoner transfer agreement would soon reach a conclusion, and with the signing of this agreement, the facilitation and acceleration of the transfer of convicts to the country would take place.

In conclusion, Jalalian advised Iranian citizens to pay attention to the laws and regulations of these countries during their travels abroad, especially to neighboring countries, to avoid long-term convictions.
